Ive asked Zoe (Mum of Corey) to write in words a little about Corey and what’s happened.

So started this year a completely normal child thriving in school and at home even with adhd, very suddenly corey became poorly suffering with lethargy tiredness weakness and sleeping more than usual, his skin was pale and in the last week has been more yellow, on Tuesday the 9th brought corey to a&e to run some tests and it turned out he was anaemic but didn't know why, and got the gut wrenching news that our boy has acute lymphatic leukemia so its running through his blood,, it has broken our hearts and so many of our families hearts and corey has been so brave and so very strong with all this information being bombarded at us we are trying to take it all in while comforting and supporting corey, we know he will have a hickman line for around 3 years and going to surgery today to have that fitted along with a bone marrow extract and lumbar puncture and a small skin sample to test, he is having genetic testing to make sure its not genetic, and loads of blood tests 8 hourly to keep an eye on his liver and kidney function he has had 2 blood transfers so far due to low haemoglobin causing paleness, lethargy, weakness etc, corey is super anxious about all of this and understandably scared but he knows the hospitals want to make him better so we have to do all of this to make him better so we can get him home again! Back to his brothers and doggies being a happy family again, this has been such a heartwrenching experience so far and we never thought on this earth we would be here now experiencing this with corey our baby, we are utterly heartbroken and want our boy better and at home where he belongs, we have a very long road ahead but with expert help and support we will get through this together come out the other end the fighter we know he absolutely is.
