I have been struggling with serious health issues for a couple of years. A blood test in July led me to eventually learn the most significant issue impacting my health has been a sizeable cancerous tumor growing on my liver. Since I own, operate and run my own one-man carpet installation business, these circumstances have limited and suspended my ability to contribute financially to my household. In the meantime, I’m learning just how expensive a cancer diagnosis and treatment are-even with decent insurance our family has through my wife’s job. At this point, I am post-op from a liver resection which included removing approximately half of my liver, my gallbladder and my cancerous tumor (hopefully entirely). I am also now past a staph infection that put me back in the hospital for life-saving treatment a second time.

In the course of this new chapter of my life a couple people have discussed with me the possibility of doing 1 or more benefits on my (and my family’s) behalf. However, due to the delicate physical state that surgeries have left me in as well as the fluid nature of my on-going medical care I don’t know that I’d be able to contribute to, take part in, or possibly even attend any such planned events. To save friends and family time, effort and money and even though I’m not exactly comfortable asking for help in any way, including and maybe especially financially, I’m swallowing my pride and creating this page to lessen the financial and psychological strain on everyone in my household.

I worked very hard post-op two times now to get out of the hospital and back to my family. I’m hoping to use my recovery time at home to focus on making the lifestyle changes conducive to living a long healthy life as a father, husband, friend, relative and as good of a human being as I can be.

I know I am blessed AF. I am incredibly thankful for the position I’m in and know there are a lot of people a whole lot worse off than I am, but at this time I am being selfish for the health, stability and well-being of my family. I am thankful for all of the doctors, nurses, family and friends who have been there and continue to be there for me and my family in so many ways already. I have a long recovery ahead, and it will still be several months before I can even think about the possibility of working. I will take all the prayers, positive energy and well wishes I can get. If you are also in a position to help my family with a donation, I would be grateful. I am thankful to even be walking the earth at this point in time. As far as donations go, nothing is expected but everything is appreciated. Blessing to everyone, regardless of your ability to donate.

Before you donate, I want everyone to recognize that my family will be ok regardless of donations because my faith is stronger than it has ever been in my whole life. If your family needs anything, including a vacation together to grow closer, use your money for that vacation, because we will always have what we need.
