Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read our story, and for all of your help and prayers. Corey Eppinette was in a horrific automobile accident on February 2, 2022 just after 5:30 A.M. He was on
I-20, on his way to work, when a log truck pulled out in front of him. Corey was unable to avoid colliding with the log truck. After the collision, the log truck fled the scene of the accident.
Corey is still in his 90 day probationary period with his new job, and has no medical insurance. Molli, his wife, very recently opened a small business, but has had to temporarily reduce her store hours to be there for Corey. They also have two wonderful children - Lilly, 3 and Carson, 1.
Corey has a long and arduous road ahead of him. He had surgery in Monroe the day of the wreck on a serious laceration to his knee and was transferred to Shreveport on Thursday, February 3, 2022. He is still in the ER waiting on a room. At that point, he will have surgery to repair a pelvis fracture - This also involves plates and pins to help keep his hip in place. The surgeon will also reopen the wound to his knee to clean it again and ensure there is no infection. This will be a lengthy and intense surgery.
Again, thank you all so much for taking the time to read Corey's story, and thank you for all of the prayers.
Any help is greatly appreciated and all donations will go directly to Corey and Molli.
From Corey's wife, Molli:
You know those moments in life that completely take your breath away, and at the same time give you a huge lump in your throat that you just can’t seem to get rid of? That explains me this morning at 5:52 AM when I received a call from a complete stranger saying, “Ma’am your husband has been in a wreck. He is ok, but we need you here ASAP.” That moment my whole world came to a complete stop and I knew I was having a bad dream.
When I arrived all I could see was my husband trapped inside his truck and guys cutting him out of his vehicle. In that moment I prayed as hard as I have ever prayed and called out to God for protection and peace.
We are currently at St. Francis waiting to be transferred to Shreveport to have surgery to repair his fractured pelvis. His knee was trapped under the dash and it was cut wide open. They took him back for surgery earlier to clean the wound and stitch it up. As soon as we know more info I will update.
Thank you to each and every person that has reached and and sent love and prayers. You have no idea how much we appreciate it! Please keep them coming in the days and months ahead.
Corey’s guardian angel was working over time this morning, and I am so thankful she was! We are greatful beyond measure! ❤️
