This is my dad Corey.  On July 13th, 2019, he was involved in a very bad motorcycle accident in Oregon while visiting my brother, where he was thrown from his bike and sustained multiple severe injuries.  Thanks to the speed and professionalism of first responders, he was able to receive life-saving care.  Unfortunately, because of the extent of his injuries - including 13 broken ribs (10 right side, 3 left), a broken sternum, several fractured vertebrae in his neck, a broken shoulder and collarbone, broken cheekbone, both wrists broken, a punctured lung, lacerated liver, bruised kidneys, and a traumatic brain injury (TBI) - he has required significant time in the Intensive Care Unit, where he remains today after a full week of care.  Aside from the damage to his physical body, which is extensive, the TBI to his frontal lobe has caused him to lose his short-term memory, and though he is the fun, lovable, and whacky dude we all know and love, he's having significant trouble remembering even the most basic of information, such as where and when he is, what he had for breakfast, and even the people he's talked to that same day.  Though he's showing progress, and is no longer in mortal danger, he will be receiving in-patient care for at least another week, and then required to undergo intensive physical and occupational therapy in a Skilled Nursing facility for an unknown period of time until such time as he can care for himself on a basic level.  As you might imagine, this level and duration of care is going to come at significant cost, regardless of the fact that he has great insurance.  On behalf of my family, I'm asking for any of you who have enjoyed a cup of coffee, a bad joke, or even a helping neighborly hand from him to do what you can to lessen the financial burden that this catastrophic situation has foisted upon him.  And for any of you who have not had the distinct pleasure of Dad's company who may also feel inclined to pitch in, rest assured that you are helping one of the kindest, gentlest, loving souls who has ever drawn a breath on Earth.  I thank you all in advance, and I hope that Dad can get a little boost from all of you to chip away at what we feel will be a veritable mountain of medical expenses.  Your kindness in this regard is greatly appreciated.
