I am originally from Córdoba and Montería, Colombia, and I am personally in direct contact with families (my family is from Monteria too) affected by the recent floods. Many of them are friends, extended family members, and people from my community.
Although I currently live in the United States, I am organizing this fundraiser to collect funds safely and then personally send the money directly to the affected families through bank transfers and essential supply purchases. Also, I already sent some food and underwear clothes for people that needed.
I will provide updates with proof of transfers, photos, and documentation to ensure full transparency for all donors.
Transparency and Distribution Plan
I will personally oversee the withdrawal of all funds raised through this campaign. The funds will be deposited into my personal U.S. bank account, as I am the organizer and beneficiary of this fundraiser.
I will not be sending direct cash payments to individuals. Instead, once the funds are received in the United States, I will transfer the money to my parents in Colombia. I fully trust them to manage and distribute the assistance responsibly and ethically. They will oversee the purchasing and distribution of essential items to families affected by the floods.
My parents are in direct contact with the affected community, including members of my extended family (cousins and uncles) who have lost most of their belongings. They will prioritize families with the greatest needs.
The funds will be used to purchase essential items such as:
- Sleeping mats or mattresses
- Food and basic grocery supplies
- School supplies for children
- Essential items for displaced families
- Basic supplies for animals that have also been affected
We have decided not to distribute cash directly to individuals in order to ensure that donations are used strictly for essential needs.
Distribution will begin within 1–2 weeks after the funds are successfully withdrawn and transferred. I am committed to full transparency and will provide updates including photos, videos, and receipts to show exactly how the donations are being used.
My goal is to support as many families, children, and even affected animals as possible during this difficult time, ensuring that every donation is used with care and integrity.
