Support the Corcoran Family after the Palisades Fire

Dear friends and family and community:

Those of you who know the Corcorans - Michael, Theresa, Audrey, Madeline, and Bucky (the family's dog) - already know they are some of the most generous folks around, and are always amongst the first to help and fill whatever needs they encounter.

Like so many others, the Corcorans evacuated the Palisades on the morning of Jan 7, 2025 with little warning. And while their family is thankfully safe, their home was unfortunately amongst those that were completely destroyed in the ensuing 24 hours. (You can see their house’s chimney in the photo above.) They were able to leave with some important documents and a few changes of clothes, but all their personal belongings are gone. And in particular for Audrey (15) and Madeline (13) who grew up in the home, having their treasured childhood keepsakes - cherished stuffed animals, vinyl record collections, money saved up in childhood safes - is a devastating loss to process on top of the pressures of navigating middle and high school.

Michael and Theresa are usually the ones providing help rather than receiving it, but as you can imagine, the emotional toll and financial stress of meeting short term needs like finding housing as well as the long process of working with FEMA and insurance is immense. These funds will help with the many everyday expenses not covered by insurance, especially helping Audrey and Madeline regain some small sense of normalcy as they buy the necessities involved in returning to school. Any support, big and small, will make a significant impact in helping the family rebuild their lives and remind them that they are not alone in this tragedy.
