Corby Bateman passed away suddenly June 7, 2017. He leaves behind a wife and 3 beautiful children. As you can imagine expenses are overwhelming with an unexpected death and his young family could use some help for current and future expenses. Fireworks erupted a day early in 1978. Our personal “firecracker” Corby was born on July 3rd! His trademark was a huge smile and an infectious grin that touched everyone he met. Riotous laughter after a pulled prank disarmed numerous potential conflicts!!
At a very young age he developed a great love for the outdoors. An Eagle Scout, he became a master woodsman. Camping and hunting became a passion. His prowess in archery became legendary. He had that knack to locate, stalk and harvest meat for the table.
Growing up on a farm taught him the value of hard work. Eventually construction became his line. His strong, steady arms and hands framed many quality jobs. He loved children – picking them up, hugging then throwing them in the air. Referred to as “Uncle Pirate” he brought squeals of joy mixed with his great laugh!! Being the #4 son, sandwiched between 3 older and 3 younger brothers made him the “Special” child. As these 7 brothers congregated, laughter and joy loud and expressive – many a belly roll with his exuberance. Finally, a sister, Shaycie. A great older brother and friend he became to her.
His greatest pride and joy, however, was his beautiful family. Manda, Lex, Tal and Cabbage (nicknames) meant the world to him. So handsome, so young and too soon to be leaving us. Our hearts ache at his passing, but we are assured as he arrives at the “Happy Hunting Grounds” that his smile and laughter will bring joy and happiness to others!
