Corbin's Road to Recovery: Your Support Needed
Donation protected
Corbin Freeman, a sophomore at Asheville High, is currently recovering in the PICU after being airlifted to Mission Hospital due to a serious mountain biking accident that occurred on March 1, 2025. He was initially taken to the trauma unit and put on a vent as his injuries are severe, including a skull fracture, concussion/brain bleeds, multiple facial fractures, two broken hips and multiple bruisings including to his lungs and left arm/hand (Corbin is left-handed). While his injuries are severe, his vitals are strong, and he is receiving the care he needs. He is expected to remain in the hospital for two weeks, with a full recovery anticipated over the next 6 months. This will be a long road to recovery. He has already had one surgery to reconstruct his eye socket and face fractures. The helicopter to Mission, plastic surgery for his face and the long-term supports that will be needed to ensure his full recovery are going to be astronomical. All funds will go directly toward medical bills and living expenses; any amount is greatly appreciated. The family cannot thank you enough for all of your check-ins, well-wishes, texts and kind words during this incredibly scary time. Updates on Corbin's recovery will be posted as they come in. Thank you again for considering.
