Corban’s Way
We are holding a Family Fun Day in memory of Corban Rosenthall to raise funds for Lighthouse Futures Trust, East SILC, and the launch of a new charity, Corban’s Way. These causes all played vital roles in Corban’s life and continue to support children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
About Corban:
Corban Rosenthall was a truly remarkable young man who sadly passed away suddenly at the age of 22. He was autistic, with a kind heart, a gentle soul, and a loving innocence that touched everyone around him. Corban was warm, funny, and deeply caring—protective of his sisters Stevie and Elsie, and especially close to his grandad.
He adored Sonic, Super Mario, and Marvel, and enjoyed spending time with his family. Corban found joy and purpose at college and loved working as an apprentice at Johnson & Johnson, where he was held in high regard. He attended both East SILC and Lighthouse Futures Trust—specialist settings where he was accepted, supported, and able to shine. Everyone who met Corban instantly loved him for his genuine spirit and infectious happiness.
What We’re Raising Money For:
This fundraiser will support three important causes:
Lighthouse Futures Trust – a specialist college providing tailored support and employment opportunities for young people with learning needs, just like Corban.
East SILC (Specialist Inclusive Learning Centre) – an inclusive educational setting supporting children with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities.
Corban’s Way – a new charity being established in Corban’s memory. Its mission is to give children and young people with special needs a voice—to help them communicate when they feel unwell or in distress, especially when speech is difficult. If Corban had a way to tell people how he was feeling in a way that worked for him—because everyone communicates differently—we believe it could have made room for change. The passion behind this charity is to deliver that message, and for Corban to speak out loud and clear on behalf of those who are different. It will also aim to create safe, inclusive spaces where families can come together to socialise, have fun, and feel understood.
Each of these causes represents Corban’s journey and the values he embodied: kindness, support, and belonging.
Where the Money Will Go:
Funds raised will:
• Support Lighthouse Futures Trust and East SILC in continuing their exceptional work, providing academic, social, and wellbeing support to students with special needs.
• Contribute to the launch of Corban’s Way, helping to develop new communication tools and safe spaces for children who need extra help expressing how they feel.
• Provide resources and equipment to ensure young people feel heard, understood, and empowered in environments designed for them.
Your donations will help build a future where no child or young person feels voiceless or alone.
