Supporting children with the effects of an alcoholic parent

My name is Sonny and on the 16th of May, 2022 when I was 14 my dad passed away when he was only 42 due to the hidden illness of alcoholism. I am wanting to raise money for a charity; Nacoa, that helps support children who are currently undergoing or have undergone the suffering of having a parent who is an alcoholic. This charity is particularly close to my heart as it helped my mum help me and my brothers through the difficult time following my dad’s death. I will be running 100 miles throughout June in memory of my dad, I have chosen this as I have always found going out for a long distance run a challenge for me mentally, therefore the reason I have chosen this challenge is to push myself in raising awareness and to provide much needed support to children and teenagers going through the same challenges that I have undergone and still face due to the loss of a parent to alcoholism.
