Educate tomorrow's physicians about addiction
Tax deductible
Generations of doctors in the United States graduated from medical schools and residencies with little if any education on addiction and substance use issues.
The Coalition on Physician Education in Substance Use Disorders (COPE) works to turn that around.
COPE works with medical schools across the country to ensure that all of tomorrow's physicians are trained to prevent and identify substance use problems, and to support the recovery of people with these issues, while providing comprehensive, compassionate, evidence-based care to these persons and their families. COPE does that by supporting medical schools in integrating vital knowledge, skills and attitudes on addiction and related issues into their curriculum.
COPE is a voluntary organization devoted to improving patient care and public health and is an Organization Partner in the national Opioid Response Network (ORN).
