Hi everyone!
I am reaching out to ask for your help and support for my brother Don (Coo) Syverson. Coo was diagnosed with lung cancer back in mid-August 2022. In early September, he had surgery to remove his right lower lobe of his lung. After surgery, he ran into multiple complications that required hospitalization after hospitalization for four months from September through December 2022 (infection, sepsis, septic shock, kidney failure, pneumonia, etc.). This included multiple surgeries and other medical procedures. In January, he went through chemotherapy (1 complete cycle), but he ended up with pneumonia and other complications and had to stop this treatment. Luckily, he was able to start an immunotherapy drug that is geared toward his type of lung cancer to help him achieve a cure. He just completed his fourth infusion of the immunotherapy drug, and so far, he is tolerating it pretty well. These infusions will take place every three weeks for a full year.
Since his diagnosis in August, and until just recently (over six months), my brother has not been able to work as a finish carpenter which he must do to keep up with his normal daily living and small business owner expenses. He is just now getting back on his feet and able to take on some jobs. He is struggling to pay medical expenses of premiums, deductibles, travel for treatments and doctor visits, and daily living expenses, along with trying to keep his business expenses paid (taxes, insurance, utilities, etc.)
My brother is not the type to ask for help, so I am asking for him. I know he would appreciate any support that is offered.
The goal of the GoFundMe campaign is to help ease some of his financial burdens that have built up over the last six months and to hopefully get him on his feet again. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference for him during this challenging time.
Thank you for considering this request, and please keep my brother in your thoughts and prayers. Your support will mean the world to him.
Sincerely,
Patti Syverson Korth
