As some of you may know, I found out in September that Cooper had two ccl injuries & needed surgery for both knees at 2,6000k each leg. I had a tough time deciding what to do as Cooper is only 3 years old so it's an early start for a double knee surgery but I also wanted him to get healthy of course & do the things he loves to do. Ultimately I decided to wait to see how he would do without the surgery & see if his legs got any better. Which they did. He went swimming pretty much every day during the warmer months & that seemed to help with his mobility tremendously. He even was able to run again- though extremely limited, no where near how he could run before. However, I was hoping that he would just continue to get better & better & get to where he was before the injury. Unfortunately, he recently tweaked it again and is now barely putting any pressure at all on his right leg. It is absolutely heartbreaking watching him struggle every day. while he may improve some again to where he can walk again, i doubt he'll ever get back to where he was before the injury without having the surgery. He hasn't been able to run more than a couple strides at a time since the beginning of July and before he would chase stick after stick without a problem. With the little amount of time dogs have on this earth, they should be able to do what they love. I want Cooper to be able to run & play & without constantly being conscious of his bad legs. While I need to find some way to get this surgery for him, right now is really a horrible time. among the ordinary every day things, I just paid for the surgery for my ankle & im paying out of pocket now for my rental expenses until my car gets fixed & geico accepts liability so I'm really really struggling with expenses right now. I know it's the Christmas season so you all might be broke like me but if you could throw a couple of nickels or dimes my way for Cooper's surgery, it will help out so much & it will make me the happiest girl with the happiest dog :)
