Honor a Beloved Teacher’s Legacy—Empower a Child’s Future
Deborah Cooper was more than a teacher—she was a force of inspiration, compassion, and creativity at Beech Street School in Manchester, New Hampshire. When she passed away from pancreatic cancer on November 2, 2025, she left behind a legacy of love for learning and a deep commitment to the children she served.
In accordance with Deb’s wishes for donations to benefit the school, the Cooper Literacy Award program has been established by the Beech Street School to continue the work she held closest to her heart. Each year, one student from every classroom will be honored with a Cooper Literacy Award medal—not for test scores, but for perseverance, resilience, and growth in reading and writing. These are the values Deb championed every day in her classroom.
Your donation will help fund:
- Literacy medals through the 2039/2040 school year
- A book vending machine so children can choose and keep their own books
- Books to stock the machine, especially for students who’ve never owned one
- Science and nature learning tools, including Deb’s cherished duck egg hatching project
This program reflects everything Deb stood for: curiosity, equity, joy, and the power of learning through wonder. Every dollar helps bring her vision to life—one child, one book, one moment of discovery at a time.
Give in Deb’s memory. Help us build a brighter future for the children she loved so deeply.
