A tache to help Cooper get better access to Hydro

Gday, my name is Andy and I will be sporting a moustache for November in order to raise funds for my dear 7 year old friend, Cooper Healey, so he can have better access to hydrotherapy.

Cooper has Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy resulting in a horrible movement disorder, uncontrollable epilepsy and a severe visual impairment. He also has chronic lung disease which results in regular hospital admissions.

A therapy that is hugely beneficial to him is Hydrotherapy due to the warmth and weightlessness which helps to relax his tight muscles. The problem is that the severity and frequency of his seizures mean that he often can’t get to his hydrotherapy sessions on the rare occasions that they can be accessed at public pools.

As such, Cooper’s family are trying to raise funds to get their own hydro pool at home so that they can more easily and more frequently help Cooper access the benefits of the water!

Sadly the cost of a hydro pool is that of a small car so the family have a fair way to go to get the necessary funds together.

Hopefully whatever I can raise here will be a decent contribution though and a big dent in the overall amount that Cooper’s family need to raise to make this a reality.

Now I know I’m asking for your spare cash at a time of cost of living pressures but as much as these pressures are a problem for you and I, they’re a bigger reality for Cooper and his family as their therapy costs are all rising too as is the cost of fuel to get to the daily appointments that they’re attending around the city.

So, if you could make any donation of any kind towards this awesome cause, I’d be stoked.

Ideally, if you can part with a dollar a day for the whole of November, that’d help keep this ridiculous moustache on my face for the whole month.

And if the donations on a per day basis are popular, much to my partner Meaghan’s chagrin, I’m open to extending the moustache wearing further than November if it keeps the donations coming in.
