Co-op Coworker displaced in apartment fire

We at the Sugar Beet Food Co-op are reaching out to ask for help for our friend and long term co-worker who lived in the apartment building that displaced 11 residents of Oak Park on October 20, 2023. Thankfully our co-worker is safe, but the apartment building is no longer inhabitable and and belonging are lost. The cost and time to resettle will be tremendous. Our goal is to support our co-worker to get back on their feet, stay in Oak Park, and find a permanent place to live.

Our co-worker is a Forest Park native and has worked in the surrounding community for decades.

Any amount donated would support our co-worker to purchase clothing, personal, and household items as well as contribute to getting a new apartment.
