Cooling Cap for Andrea!
Donation protected
This past March Andrea was diagnosed with breast cancer. Those of you who know her, know that she is an amazing person. She is cheerful, loving, unbelievably strong, and cares so much about her family, friends, and students!
At the beginning of May she underwent surgery to remove the cancer, which was successful. However, further testing revealed cancerous cells present in her lymph nodes. As a result, she will be undergoing eight cycles of chemotherapy every two weeks starting June 4th, every other Tuesday. After the chemotherapy she will then start 5 1/2 weeks of radiation treatment. Andrea is counting down the days to November when this will be behind her!
During this next phase of the journey, Andrea is going to try a new medical device called a Cooling Cap. Essentially, she will wear this cap for 30 min before her chemotherapy treatment and then for 1.5 hours after to help minimize the loss of her hair. We would love to help Andrea out with this additional cost not covered by her insurance.
Now it’s time that we send back some of the love and support to Andrea. Through this all, she's not asked for anything, just visitors to keep her company! Anything you can donate will be truly appreciated. Please help us to surround her with love and support so she can focus on beating this thing. Please spread the word.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
