Cookie Silvia's Family

On Saturday, February 25, 2023, Angela “Cookie/Miss Cookie” Silvia, loving and beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, niece, friend, neighbor, member of the community and cherished substitute teacher in several Northside schools, passed tragically after a brief illness.

Her life was centered around the Ravenswood community that she and her family helped to make the special place that it is. Her calm and gentle spirit was widely appreciated and respected by young and old alike. She always had time for a smile, kind word, and connection, on the block, in the Square, at Jacob Park, on her blue bike, or while walking with her family.

Ever generous, Cookie was always ready to help – raising her hand to contribute her time, energy and talents whenever needed. She was a gifted artist, a voracious reader, joyfully creative, with the seaside and the East Coast where she spent her youth imprinted on her very being.

Her dedication to her beloved children, Penny and Caroline, and to her life partner in love, Jason, was boundless.

Her friends/neighbors have created this GoFundMe to assist Jason and the girls during this acutely difficult time.
