"You should never lay awake at night worrying about medical bills when you should be healing..."
These are the words of my sister Katie. They resonate through my body, my heart, my soul, days and weeks after they have been spoken to me.
Katie was diagnosed with cancer in December. For the past 6 months she's been subjected to surgery, chemotherapy and endless testing. All to get her life back. Throughout all of this she's continued to work as much as physically possible. She's continued to be an amazing and loving mom to her son Harper.
Her medical bills weigh heavily on her. Katie has told me "it's like you died anyways", with the psychological and financial impact that inevitably follows a cancer diagnosis. I'm asking those who know Katie, who know her wonderful, wildflower spirit, to help me give her her life back, her sleep back, her dreams back. Any small amount will help and is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
