We are Kevin and Nicole Cook, and we are on a journey of Life!
In November 2015, we were completely overwhelmed by the viral response we received from a picture of us going to an abortion clinic to spread a message of life, love, and hope.
Long story short:
We started by expressing our desire to adopt a child specifically in order to save their life from abortion.
After an incredible response to our post, we realized the need for a long process to adopt and began that journey. After finally completing that road and getting home study approved, we had been awaiting the opportunity to save a life to come about.
Then we heard about a sweet 5 year old boy from Africa who had been adopted in Spring 2016 but whose adoptive parents needed to find him a new placement. Their story spoke to our hearts and the Lord made it very clear to move in that direction - that ALL Life matters, not just infants. And so we listened, moved forward, and are now in the process of bringing this boy home and adopting him!
We have been incredibly blessed by family, friends, our seminary community, and the community of followers and supporters we have met along this path! We are so thankful for each and every one of you! You are a blessing!
As of December 1, in this new situation, we still need to raise about $8,000 (which would be about $13,000 total) to cover the remaining legal expenses and adoption fees. If we are able to raise more than that, it would help to cover the cost of family counseling, speech therapy, and all the other various immediate needs in providing for our little man.
