On September 13th, Matt Cook collapsed running home at his softball game. Thankfully, he was quickly surrounded by heroes who jumped into action to start CPR after he went into sudden cardiac arrest. When medics arrived, he was shocked, intubated, and rushed to UAB Hospital. (Miracle #1)

Less than 24 hours after the cardiac emergency, Matt was alert and extubated without brain damage. (Miracle #2)

On September 15th, follow-up testing determined Matt had NO heart damage. (Miracle #3)

Further testing revealed Matt has a coronary artery anomaly that lies undetected until sudden cardiac death - but God had angels in place!! (Miracle #4!)

On Monday, September 19th, Matt will undergo open heart surgery to reroute/bypass the anomaly. Doctors will not know the extent of these fixes until they are operating. 

Matt has a long road of recovery ahead of him, and the Cook Family needs our support as they face the challenges ahead.
