                                       MY STORY
I have been so blessed and fortunate to travel to many places. My traveling started when I was younger and birthed out of short term mission trips with my church to Mexico and Peru. Those trips formed my heart for other cultures and people who are less fortunate than myself. I will never forget thinking on my way back from a village I was working in outside of Lima, Peru, as I was staring out the window at the dusty, flat, makeshift buildings made out of cardboard, clay, and any plastic they could rummage. I was thinking that life is like a lottery system, I was dealt really good numbers and was born to a middle class white family in a great community. I didn’t have to work to get my food, I didn’t ever have to go hungry. I didn’t know what it was like to go without necessities. I didn’t pick this life, but I am grateful for it. I thought then, since I had been granted these privileges, I felt convicted to use them to enrich others that don’t have the same. This sparked a life-long desire to serve others who have less. It is ironic though, the more I experienced the communities that had less material items, or resources, I learned they had stronger communities, hearts and minds. The people and communities being served, fueled my desire to serve my local community and continue to serve abroad. Serving with other cultures is a passion of mine, and is always transformative.

                                   WHAT AM I DOING?
I  have the opportunity to partner with Convoy of Hope and participate on a transformational short term mission trip with my church, Mile High Vineyard . I have never been to Haiti, but my church has been sending teams and building community with our partners in country for years. I am excited to partner directly with the Haitian people and bring hope, love, and physical or material needs for the communities that have endured tragedies of mother-nature with earthquakes and hurricanes. In turn, I am sure I will return with hope and love in a different capacity to help transform my community here in the U.S. and continue to partner with the Haitian people through the building of community.

                                            WAYS TO GIVE
I know not everyone has the opportunity to travel, as I am so fortunate to have. I wanted to extend to you this letter as an invitation to partner in this journey with me. I am asking for financial support and prayer support. If you decide to partner with me financially or through prayer, I will make sure to deliver pictures and hand written notes to show my gratitude.    All funds will go directly  to this mission . I need to raise at least half of the money before the end of March!                           Money is definitely a stressor for me, but I have to remember that where I am spending my money and asking for money is where my priorities lie. I want Jesus’ mission of hope, love, and serving to be priority in my life. This to me is a trip of continuing a passion, a calling to help humanity, a service, and a time to invest in something way more substantial than most of the political and social environments currently around me.

Thank you!
LOVE,
Caitlin Eggimann

****(SIDE NOTE: I am currently serving locally as well and volunteering with refugees from Burma that have been resettled in Denver. This too is a transformational experience and could use some prayer. We don’t necessarily need financial assistance at this time as they are working to become self-sufficient. The refugee process is eye opening and takes close to 15 years from becoming a refugee to being placed in a country. These people endure so much, and I feel privileged to help. If this is something that strikes a chord with you, please reach out!)
