Contributions for Crystal
Last week, Teresa Grider lost her battle with cancer.
I was never blessed enough to have met her, but I do know these things about her:
She was beautiful.
She was a fighter.
She had a heart of gold.
She was loved.
She was strong until the end.
I know these things, despite never having met her, because I see all these things reflected in her daughter Crystal.
Crystal is my coteacher. Not only is she my coteacher, she has quickly become one of my best friends. She is always there with a smile, with an offer to help, with advice or a kind word, and with the endless amounts of patience needed to deal with our students (and me, let's be honest.)
I want to try and be the one to help Crystal out this time. I know I can only do so much, so I am reaching out to all of you.
I would like to be able to give Crystal the time and space needed to grieve and remember her Mom, with no financial consequence. The last thing anyone in this situation needs to do is worry about their next paycheck.
Please donate what you can. $100. $50. $20. Even $1. It all helps, and when you think about the type of person Crystal is and the type of family she comes from, I don't think any of us have enough money in our accounts to give them what they truly deserve.
Thank you in advance for all your generosity. I ask everyone for one more thing- tonight, before you go to bed, pray to whomever you believe in that Teresa Grider is in a better place with no pain, and pray that her family finds peace and comfort in her memory.
