In lieu of flowers, etc. we've set up a GoFundMe page for those wishing to make financial contributions towards Tanner's education. All contributions will be added into a college 529 savings plan.
His father, Brandon, passed away this week. Below is the announcement shared on social media.
Today, a 9 year old boy lost his father. A 44 year old man lost his brother. And a 76 year old woman lost her son.
Brandon Jon Miller’s liver finally gave up on him — at the young age of 39. Sadly, it was the disease called alcoholism that never gave up on Brandon.
It breaks our hearts to have to share this news. Simultaneously, we can’t help but to be grateful Brandon is no longer suffering.
None of us really knows where we go after this thing called “life” is all over - well, at least nobody’s ever come back and told Brandon, my mom or I.
But today as we type this note, we’re thinking less about where we go after and more about how to embrace the now.
We can only hope all of you reading this will take a moment to give a hug or smile to a stranger, have a good laugh - possibly til it makes you cry, let that asshole who cut you off in traffic not get to you and maybe even choose a healthier option at your next meal.
But ultimately, take a moment to think about how fast 39 years can go by. Make the most of your time on this planet and do your best to leave your mark — whatever that means for you. (Brandon left his beautiful son, Tanner.)
And collectively, let’s all cherish the gift of life we’re given beyond those 39 years and use Brandon’s short time here to inspire us all to live our best life possible - with good health, lots of laughter, love and your favorite bowl of ice cream.
Much love,
Brother and Mother
