On Tuesday 17th November 2020, PC 707 Phillip Watkins and his family suffered the tragic loss of his wife Jackie following a brave battle with COVID-19. Jackie sadly also left behind their beautiful 13-year-old twins Jack and Megan.

Phil, known as ‘Pringle’ to his friends and colleagues, is a proud serving police officer currently based in Ammanford. However, he has many mates across the force and beyond.

Phil has received overwhelming support from colleagues, friends and family and is hugely appreciative of the daily calls, messages and support he has received so far. 

To continue with the support for Pringle and his family, ‘Team 707’, a group of serving officers from Carmarthenshire have decided to run 707 miles between them, starting on December 1 and finishing on Christmas Eve.

Team 707 is made up of PS 1070 Dylan Davies, DS 778 Owen Lock, PS 209 Stuart Davies, Insp Andy Williams, CI Tom Sharville, PC 854 Mathew Jones, PC 507 Tom Davies, DS 297 Al Rees and A/PS 602 Tom Coppock.

PS Dylan Davies said: “This is going to be some challenge for the team but when things get tough during the cold and dark winter runs, we will all be thinking of Phil, Jack and Megan.
