Contributions for Pepe and His Son Isaac

A dedicated student of the Mariposa Adult Literacy Program & Yosemite View Lodge employee, Pepe Herrera, and his family received tragic news on Saturday.
His partner, Jennifer, lost her life driving home from a late-night shift at the Lodge. There was a fierce thunderstorm that evening and Jennifer lost control of her vehicle in the river canyon. Pepe and Jennifer worked alternating shifts at the hotel so that they could care for their 2 year old son, Isaac. Pepe's birthday was on Monday, May 20th, and his son's birthday is on Thursday, May 23rd, and instead of celebrating, they are in mourning.
Pepe shared the following on Facebook:
"In all the ups and downs of the last 14 years, I always had you by my side. You have left a part of you with me in the form of our son and I will love and care for him with all of my heart."
We are heartbroken for Pepe and his son and ask that you support them in their path forward. A funeral will be held in the next few weeks and Pepe will be needing assistance with funeral costs and childcare.

Un dedicado estudiante del programa de aprendizaje de inglés en Mariposa, Pepe Herrera, quien es un empleado de Yosemite View Lodge, y su familia recibieron noticias trágicas este sábado.
Su pareja, Jennifer, perdió la vida conduciendo a su casa después de salir de su turno de trabajo en Yosemite View Lodge. Hubo una tormenta muy fuerte esa noche y Jennifer perdió el control de su vehículo en el cañón del rio. Pepe y Jennifer trabajaban turnos separados en Yosemite View para poder cuidar de su hijo de dos años. El cumpleaños de Pepe fue el lunes 20 de Mayo y el cumpleaños de su hijo, Isaac, es el 23, y en vez de estar celebrando, están pasando por esta gran pena.
Pepe compartio lo siguiente en Facebook: "Te voy a amar siempre. Fuiste lo mejor de mi vida aún con altas y bajas. 14 años te tuve a mi lado y me dejaste un pequeño pedacito de ti al que voy a amar y cuidar todas mis fuerzas."
Estamos desconsolados por Pepe y su hijo y les pedimos su apoyo para que ellos continuen con su camino. Un funeral se llevará a cabo en las próximas semanas y Pepe necesitará ayuda con los gastos que se generen, así como con los gastos que se vendrán para el cuidado de su hijo.
