Tai Lahans is a beloved teacher, author, cancer survivor, and descendant of the Anishnaabe people. A licensed acupuncturist, and doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Tai has shared her compassionate wisdom with many patients and students alike. She has taught extensively at various colleges of Chinese medicine and has sat on many boards involved in advocacy for cancer patients. As the author of two books: Integrating Conventional and Chinese Medicine in Cancer Care and The Geology of the Modern Cancer Epidemic Through the Lens of Chinese Medicine, she imparts the deep truth of medicine to share with the world. She holds stories that have captured the true breadth of how this ancient medical knowledge can help people, the world over. Her methods of educating in the context of global systemic oppression and how trauma can be carcinogenic to our bodies have contributed significantly to our understanding of human health. Tai has touched our hearts with her teachings and honest way of connecting with others from a heart-centered place. Her integrity in her choices to put humanity and community care first will continue to inspire as her legacy lives through all who have learned from her.
