Contribute to Orphanage School in Uganda

Hi, For those of you who don't know me, I'm Cheryl Lettenmaier. I am a retired public health specialist and have lived in Uganda since 1994. The Councilman for my neighborhood in Kampala, Mr. Yiga, recently took me to visit the orphanage/school he has been running in Masaka, Uganda, since 2015. It's very basic. But, it's a lifeline for 300+ children who otherwise would not go to school. Some of them would be living on the streets.
Mr. Yiga is asking for support to improve the living and educational environment of his institution. The Tusuubira Children Foundation school/orphanage caters for street children in the town of Nyendo, Masaka, and children of families too poor to pay for school fees from the community around the orphanage/school. Currently, the school has about 300 students including around 35 orphans ranging in age from 4 to 13 years, and offers classes for kindergarten through the 6th grade. Only the orphans live at the school.
The school and dormitories have dirt floors, no electricity, windows or screens. The kitchen is a corrugated iron shed with fire pits where they cook vats of maize meal and beans for the kids. Classrooms and dormitories are crowded.
In 2022, they constructed brick walls for a block of classrooms, but ran out of money so it was never completed. It's not useable because it has no roof. We're trying to raise money to put a corrugated iron roof on it. That will free up classroom space that can be used for dormitories. Currently, there are 2 small "dormitories" cramped with triple bunk beds--one room for girls and the other for boys.
The budget for iron sheeting for the roof is US$ 2,500. Would you be willing to help out with a contribution?
