Contribute to Leif's Memorial Sculpture

This magnificent sculpture on the corner of 3rd Street and Beltrami in Bemidji, MN is being purchased as a permanent installation to the Bemidji Sculpture Walk in memory of Leif Erickson.

 

Many of Leif's loved ones have asked to contribute to the purchase, leading to this fundraiser, we thank everyone for their kind gifts.

 

Leif had a passion and great love for music, he spent countless hours playing guitar - it was one of his many, many talents. He learned and played by ear, he could pick up on any song in just a few minutes by listening and playing along. Those who knew Leif greatly enjoyed listening to him play. 

 

Thank you to Selena Wille de Galdámez, Leif's aunt, for the inspiration and the initiative. Selena will be processing the contributions to pay the artist, the full amount for the sculpture is $8,800.
