In 2018, Sharif Ahmad graduated from Berkeley High School. He'd been a vital member of the small school in which I teach, Communication Arts and Sciences, so when the other CAS teachers and I learned that his mother Latitia had been hit and killed on Ashby Avenue in Berkeley this week, we reached out to Sharif to see how we might support him. He responded that his family would like to have Latitia buried alongside family at a cemetary in Livermore.

Sharif is an extraordinary person; he generously shares love and kindness with everyone he knows. Given that he and his family are struggling with the pain of this terrible loss, we hope that you will consider donating to his mom's funeral.
