Patrick Lovitt, as known as Lao Da Long and Lao Zhi Chang to his many students over the years, suffered a stroke on Friday, July 8 2022.
As a fairly young person who has lived an extraordinary (and sometimes very difficult) life, this is terrible news to us all, and quite a grave situation for his immediate family, Ana Paula, Julian and Liam. Lao may not immediately be able to return to his usual work or teaching duties.
Although some have already reached out and donated in some direct capacity, at the request of his immediate family, his students are making a public GoFundMe to ensure the widest audience for support for both him and his family in his time of need. This money directly and totally supports his family, and is intended to defray medical costs and to add replacement income at this time.
