Jessica (Jessie) Christyne Martin left this earthly world, surrounded by friends and family, for her heavenly home with Christ Jesus on May 29, 2025.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jared Martin, as well as her best friend and kindred spirit, Allisa (Chris) Kovey. She is remembered by the Pender and Hudson families, as well as those she impacted throughout her life. She was proceeded in death by her mother, Tami Pender-Riggs, and her grandfather, David Pender.

Jessie was a soft-spoken, caring individual that had a desire to help those in need. Her love, compassion, and understanding touched the heart of those who knew and loved her. Jessie loved the quiet nights spent with her husband listening to audio books and taking drives. She enjoyed reading and writing, while cuddling and playing with her cat Tilly. She inspired others to reach beyond their normal lives and take adventures with the books they read. Jessie’s empathy allowed her to always be ready to lend a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, and a desire to fight for what she believed in. Jessie was a person who led by example and encouraged those around her to always be their best and most authentic self. Her influence is seen in the nieces and nephews she leaves behind and they will continue to hear about the happy times spent with their dear Aunt Jessie. Jessie possessed a quiet faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Jessie, may you find peace and rest forever with the Lord.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8th at 1pm followed by a service at 2pm at Burns Funeral Home in Hobart, Indiana. To honor Jessie’s memory, please dress comfortable.
