Cody Jessup Memorial Fund

My name is Tim Jessup. My family and I just recently had to do one of the hardest things I have had to ever do on this Earth. On Tuesday February 5th 2019 I received a text message telling me that my brother Cody Jessup was being taken to the hospital for possible organ failure. Wednesday morning i received a text saying he was in septic shock, his kidneys and liver are trying to shut down and he was put on a ventilator because his heart was working so hard. Later that afternoon i received another text stating the Dr had put him on Dialysis and that they believe the root of everything he was experiencing was his heart. His heart is failing and the Dr thinks he may need a heart transplant. ---  ( Cody was born with his heart on the right side. By the age of 3 he had surgeries to repair holes in his heart. At the age of 9 he was diagnosed with type 1 childhood diabetes. ) ---Cody had always been a fighter. So when I was told that he would need a transplant I was somewhat relieved that he would possibly come out of this better than he had been his whole life. The next text i received said that they would have to move him to a different hospital because of his preexisting heart condition he was born with. But it was going to be a very critical transfer to another hospital and they had to find Dr. who could work on him with his condition.  The transfer to the new hospital went well, so there again we had hope. Now it was just a matter of waiting for his organs to show signs of starting to recover.  Friday the 8th, I received a phone call telling me i needed to get to Dallas Tx. I live in Concordia Ks 7 1\2 hours away.  The Dr. at the new hospital told us that Cody's organs were not improving and his heart was working only at 10%. He was in multiple system organ failure caused by untreated heart failure. even if he had a heart transplant his other organs would not perform.  On Saturday the 9th we had to make the decision to let him pass at the young age of 32.  Cody would take care of others before he would take care of himself. He would give you his shirt off of his back. He was always there to help when i needed him. He wouldn't want us to think about how we have lost him. He would want us to remember how long we had him for. He touched so many lives. He picked everyone up and made us all smile. I am here to ask with a heavy heart for help with Cody's expenses. Your contributions would go to making his celebration of life a beautiful service for his daughter to remember that her father was an amazing person. The remaining funds after the celebration of life is payed for, will go to his only child. Rylie is 10yrs old, she is a very mature, and strong young lady. Cody and her mother put her in Gymnastics at a young age and she has become very good. She comes home placing top 3 in all events. Cody loved his daughter and has told me on several different occasions how proud of her he was. She was his light.  Cody would want Rylie to continue Gymnastics and it can be very expensive for the training, leotards, and getting to meets out of town. I want to make sure my niece is able to do that and for her mother to not have to worry about fees. I know Cody would want it that way. His heart and body were tired of fighting and suffering and he was called to heaven to relieve his pain and suffering. Help us in any way you can and to honor Cody's life, God knows Cody helped us in many different ways. Help us help Rylie to continue her dreams in Gymnastics.  Thank you from the very bottom of our hearts!
