Contribute to Beau and Susie’s medical expenses

Beau and Susie are the sweetest pitties you’ll ever meet!
I rescued Beau in 2019 through a shelter that transported him from Arkansas. An awful person tied him up and left him to die. He was completely emaciated, heartworm positive, and was scheduled to be euthanized because he looked too far gone. Fortunately, the incredible rescue Paws and Claws in McGehee, Arkansas, nursed him back to health. Beau should hate humans for what they did to him, but he absolutely adores everyone he meets, humans and animals alike. He is just a big happy meatball! He has a personality like I have never seen before; he truly has no idea he’s a 75 lb dog! I wanted a friend for Beau, so the rescue suggested his best friend in foster Susie, and they were reunited! Beau was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor in 2021 at the young age of 4. He was treated with a new drug that held the tumor off for a year, but unfortunately it has returned and needs a more aggressive approach. Beau just had surgery on Nov 9th and will be recovering for a few weeks until he will need radiation therapy. I am fortunate enough to have insurance for him, but that only covers so much.
Susie was also mistreated and dumped along with her three puppies in Arkansas. She had so much milk that she looked like a little cow! Paws and Claws treated her heartworms and nursed her babies back to health. Susie and Beau were inseparable in foster, she was even in the pictures I saw of him on Petfinder! They are both so special, so much so that they were the personal fosters of the rescue owner. Susie was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2019. She had her first seizure a week after I got her, during the grace period of her insurance, therefore nothing seizure related is covered for her. I’ve spent thousands of dollars over the past few years trying to get her medication right, along with mandatory bloodwork every few months to check critical levels. Her seizures were well managed for a while, but have increased in frequency in the past year. They are now presenting as cluster seizures (multiple seizures hours apart) which can be life-threatening. Watching her go through this is unfathomably painful and disturbing. But you wouldn’t know she had any medical issues, as she’s the happiest and sweetest dog I’ve ever met. Seriously, she is a fan favorite. She has seen the neurologist recently, and it was suggested that she has an MRI if she doesn’t improve. That can cost up to $5,000, which I cannot afford on top of Beau’s cancer treatment. I am trying to exhaust all other options first, but I want to ensure I can do everything I can for her.
If you know Beau and Susie, you know how inseparable they are. They are attached at the hip, tripping over each other to be close. They sleep, eat, breathe, and play in sync- I seriously have never seen a more bonded pair. They were absolutely made to find each other in this life. I can't bear to think about one living without the other because I couldn’t care for them equally.
If you know me, you know I am a giver, not a taker. Asking for help is very uncharacteristic of me. I would give my own life for my animals and do everything I can to provide them with the best life. I spend hundreds a month on prescription food, medication, and vet visits (Seriously, Chewy sends me thank you cards because I have 12 auto-ships with them). I don’t know what the path forward looks like for their expenses, but they both require care that is not cheap. Even fifty cents from all of you would make a world of difference in deciding what I can do for them.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you ❤️
