Help Matthew save his vision
Donation protected
I am organizing this fundraiser for my friend Matthew Flesch. Matthew has, over the last 6 years been slowly losing his vision due to Glaucoma. Despite several surgeries, this decline has been a steady march toward blindness. Recently, Matthew’s glaucoma specialist communicated that they are out of options for traditional surgical interventions. Since this time Matthew has been researching treatments, and has found the Fedorov Vision Restoration Institute in Berlin, Germany. The treatments provided at the Institute have shown to be effective at increasing vision for people with Matthew’s condition. While this treatment will not halt the continued decline of Matthew’s vision, it would give him several more years of vision – enough to be able see some milestone events, such as the graduations of his son and
daughter. It may also buy some time for new developments in Ophthalmology to hopefully find better interventions to help save Matthew’s sight.
Those of you who are lucky enough to know Matthew, or to have seen him as a patient, will know that he is a loving and generous person who is the first to give his time and resources to help those around him. He is devoted to his family, friends, and patients, and looks after them with love and dedication. Now he is in need, and I am hoping he will find the same love and care in return.
I am trying to raise $25000 for Matthew to spend two weeks in Berlin receiving this treatment. This includes the cost of treatment, airfare, accommodations, meals, and loss of income. Any funds raised over that amount will be reserved for next steps in his vision journey, including new therapies.
Many thanks to those who donate to help Matthew preserve his sight as long as possible.
