Emily is a beautiful wife and young mom who has been fighting cancer on and off since her diagnosis in the spring of 2010. As of August 2019, her scans are showing that the tumors in her body are still growing. The next step for treatment looks like Emily will be starting an IV Immunotherapy which will be given in Chicago. This will require more trips to and from Chicago which equals more financial needs.
They moved about two weeks ago, Nate started a new job where he is responsible for raising his own funding for a portion of their income, and they have two young kids who need care during Emilys treatments. Coordinating travel, work, meals, and childcare isn't cheap and can often add a financial burden on top of focusing on getting Emily the care she needs.
Emily is a light for Jesus and knows that no matter what she is going through that #Godisstronger.
All funds raised through this campaign will go directly to Emily and her family to help offset medical costs and pay for travel expenses to and from treatments. Thank you for your prayers and support of Emily!

More of Her Story:
In 2010 Emily was a newlywed living with her husband, Nate, in Fergus Falls, MN. She began experiencing severe headaches that lead her to go to the doctor. After an CT Scan, they learned she had a brain tumor that required immediate surgery.
She was brought by ambulance to Fargo, ND where she had surgery. There they learned that Emily had a medulla blastoma (brain cancer). This new knowledge eventually lead Emily and Nate to Illinois. There they were closer to her family and a great team of doctors in Chicago.
After a series of chemo and radiation Emily went into a monitoring phase for the next five years.
During that time, they moved to North Dakota and were blessed with a baby girl. After a few years, they moved back to Illinois and found out they were pregnant again.
Towards the end of Emily's second pregnancy (in 2016) they found out she had a new tumor growing. After surgery to remove the tumor, it was determined that she had a secondary cancer. This time she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer). Chemotherapy followed the surgery that removed the tumor.
Since that tumor removal in 2016, Emily has had new growths, a surgery, and ongoing treatments.
Her also underwent surgery in the spring of 2018. Since then, a new growth had started and her doctors recommended Chemotherapy before anymore surgery. Emily is currently going through these treatments. Emily has seen some neurological improvements since starting chemo, but recent scans (August 2019) are showing there is still growth in these tumors.
Emily also contracted shingles which caused damage to the cornea in one of her eyes. She will need to have an outpatient surgery to replace her cornea.

Emily passed into the loving embrace of her Lord and Savior at 5:38pm. Her faith became sight as she finished the race marked out for her. She was a bright light that reflected the true light of Christ to everyone around her. Our family is saddened and heartbroken. But we are thankful her suffering has come to an end, as God makes her new. We cling to the promises of Christ, just as Emily did. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die" (John 11:25-26). Indeed God is stronger than the grave!
