Continuing Christina’s Legacy

Hello,
As many of you know, my Tia Christina tragically passed away on Saturday, November 20th, 2021. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Christina could tell you what a determined and strong woman she was. She fought as hard as she could to regain her health, but as we all know now, Covid is unpredictable.
Christina had built a beautiful life with her husband Vicente. They had dreams of their future together and hopes of making many more memories with their amazing children Diego and Bella. For the Duarte Familia, the life that they’ve known has been shattered.
We are hoping we can help ease the stress and some of the pain by supporting them during this incredibly difficult time. Our hope is that we may continue to fulfill Christina’s dreams and hopes for their future; that they may continue to live and experience life. She had dreams of celebrating Bella’s upcoming graduation, hopes of future family travels and making new incredible memories together. Christina may no longer be here physically to make these dreams a reality for her family, but we, as a community, can help support them in achieving this.
During Christina’s life she helped countless people, she gave her time, her voice, and her knowledge. She never asked for credit or payment. She gave from heart. She was so passionate about helping her community and people, nothing could stop her. When my Tia Kiki put her mind to something, she was a force to be reckoned with and it always got done.
Christina loved equally as fiercely. She was the kindest, brightest and most full of life person. Her laughter and smile lit the room. She went out of her way to make sure the people in her life knew how special and loved they were. She believed in authenticity, individuality, and sharing one’s self with the world. She bared herself to the world, gracing us all with her light, love, and beauty. Christina may no longer walk this world with us, but her soul continues to speak to us: When you see a beautiful garden (she was most often found in her garden, listening to music), hear a beautiful song, or see the sunset she is there. Think of her. If you feel the call to help continue Christina’s dreams, we are so grateful for the support. Please continue to stay safe out there.
For those of you that would prefer to donate directly to the family we have set up an account for Diego and Bella at Redwood Credit Union. Account 321177586 @ 4837 Duar.
Our Christina will be missed every day. With her gone, there is a void in our lives. We know in our hearts, though, that she would want us to continue to live, follow our hearts, and experience all life has to offer.
Tia Kiki,
May you Rest In Peace and forever know that you have made a mark in all our lives. Your work continues to be done. We love you forever.
