My amazing and beloved wife keeps fighting against the hardest marathon she has ever faced.
After colliding with a very large SUV, while training on her triathlon bike in May of last year, Mary has been through a very difficult recovery process where she is beating all the odds.
The acute phase of her recovery has passed. God miraculously saved her life after a scary and life threatening time in the ICU. Mary started becoming physically strong again, getting her cognition and personality back in the inpatient rehabilitation center.
Now it has been months of intense outpatient therapy, where she is proving to be the champion we know and love! Mary is doing all she can and even more.
Even if this time seems like forever for us, we are just at the beginning of a long recovery process. Mary's next goal is to walk, and we all believe that she will. She needs tons of therapy, home equipment, home adaptations and many other aids that will help her to be the strong woman, wife, mother, daughter, daughter-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, friend, speech language pathologist, and athlete she has always been.
This is why we created this Gofundme, so that Mary can reach all her goals during this long process which she is really beating, thanks to her strong will, amazing faith, and everyone’s support and prayers!
