Content Creators Academy Jersey City, is a nonprofit education program offering mentorship to youth in Jersey City interested in media, marketing, and entrepreneurship. We curate workshops covering a variety of digital media, including graphic design, videography, photography, and illustration. Our team of volunteer mentors provide tailored lesson plans, and teach valuable skills that enhance students’ college applications and professional portfolios.
We began taking applications at the end of summer and accepted eight bright students to join CCAJC. Classes began in October led by our director MacAdam Smith. Our eight students learned so many valuable skills this year and are proficient in graphic design, photography, videography, branding and most importantly entrepreneurship.
We had mentors from many industries come in to train our kids and talk about what they do! We had talented photographers and videographers, a drone specialist, creative entrepreneurs and many more.
We need a Space!
A big challenge we are having is space. We are hoping to rent out a space by fall so the kids have a regular meeting place and so we can possibly add more classes and expand the program. If you know of an affordable space close to public transportation please email us!
End of year event
Save the date! June 21 we will be having a fundraiser/graduation celebrating the students achievement this year. We will be presenting their work and mingling with friends and family members. This will be a public event! Location to be determined.
One of our goals at CCAJC is to offer free or heavily subsidized tuition to youth who could not otherwise afford classes. Thanks to our generous community of donors, this past semester we were able to offer free tuition to 15 students. When our next cohort begins in the fall, we’re working to increase that number to 25 students. But that means we need help.
