Earlier this year I started Karuna Training, a contemplative psychology program as part of my ongoing commitment to support the most vulnerable in our community. I'm excited about the opportunity. This work feels particularly significant as there is a big need for diversity in this field.
Karuna training teaches me that every situation is workable and allows me to manifest compassion in the least biased ways. Using this training I can give better support for families who are working with a difficult diagnosis for their child. It gives me the energy to share my heart in heartbreaking situations.
When I started I thought I could weave the cost of the program into my financial landscape. In practice, it is proving too stressful to cover the costs and maintain financial stability for me and my kids.
I truly believe by doing this work I'm being trained to bring a greater sense of connection at a time when it's easy to feel disconnected.
So, please if you can, help me continue. I'm truly grateful for anything you feel you can give at this time. If you feel you can only share $1 that would be wonderful. If you are not in a position to give any money, I would love to hear from you.
Here is the breakdown of the costs:
The cost of the program = $6000
Intensive week = $700
Childcare/weekend= $ 300
Reaching my donation goal of $4500 will provide enough support for me to fully commit to the completion of this 2-year program.
