Conrad's Journey Back to Pyramids

Hello Everyone!

My name is Conrad de Chabert and I am a former athlete of Pyramids All-Stars, which is now Cheergyms.com. My original gym is holding their 30-year reunion on September 13, 2025, and I am trying to raise money to be able to attend. The total cost would cover a round-trip flight and hotel.

Story Time!

Pyramids All-Stars saved my life. And when I say that, I mean it. I am from Danville, CA, and at that time, it was not a good place to be for me as an openly gay black man in America. Almost every day from 7th grade to junior year of high school, I was tormented. Beat up, spit on, I was called 'Nigger Fag' daily. It was not a good time for me. Pyramids saved me. They saved my life. Cheerleading saved my life. Pyramids and Cheergyms.com gave me a safe and secure place to feel comfortable and to feel safe. My coaches Danny, Tini, Derrick, and Morton really have NO idea what you did for me as a kid. I would not be here in this world without each of you being there for me. Their guidance and love for the sport and for us athletes is the main reason I am here today. And I took that and ran with it and now work in the same industry as a coach that saved me as a child.

I hope to raise this money to be able to go and see them all at the reunion. It's been DECADES since I have stepped foot into that gym, but it feels like yesterday that I remember being there. I can still hear their voices whenever I coach my own athletes. ANYTHING will help, and I thank you for helping.
