Conrad Guay is a 48-year-old loving husband and father of three daughters who has been fighting the battle of his life for the past 9 years. What started out as tingling in his lower left leg, lead to the discovery of an egg-sized brain tumor in his right parietal lobe. He began treatments soon after his diagnosis and has not stopped: whole brain radiation, chemotherapy, cyber knife radiation, Avastin (which he is still receiving). As a result of the treatments, Conrad developed many complications including diabetes, esophageal varices and a small brain hemorrhage.
Throughout this time, Conrad has been a warrior, fighting this tumor with the support of his wife, Terry Ann, daughters Rachel, Lexi, and Vanessa, as well as family and friends. If you know Conrad, you know that he is a strong, determined, independent man. He has always been the provider for his family. Now, he is no longer able to work and, because his physical needs are so great, neither is Terry Ann. Changes to his health are happening every day and he requires the care of a wonderful team of people so that he can remain at home surrounded by his loving family before he has to enter into hospice care at Sakura House in Woodstock.
Time with his family is now very limited. We know that money won’t change the outcome, but his family needs your help so that he can remain at home for as long as possible, surrounded by their love. Every donation will help Conrad and his family be able to spend their time enjoying every moment they have left together rather than worrying about the rising bills and medical costs.
