Conquering Cancer Fund

 My name is Sophia Hewitt and I live in Bristol, Connecticut. I’m the mother of three adult children, grandmother to four, sister to nine, aunt, cousin, friend….to so many.

After six months of testing, ER visits, doctor visits, MRI’s and probing, I was recently diagnosed with an aggressive stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer.  

My recommended path of treatment includes undergoing several rounds of Chemotherapy for a six month period.

By the grace of God I truly believe I will endure the many obstacles that are to come and I will successfully conquer this season of my life. 

I shamelessly ask for your help now, because I cannot conquer cancer alone. As a result of this diagnosis I have incurred a tremendous amount of medical expenses and it will continue to grow my Chemotherapy continues. My family and I are simply not financially equipped to fight this battle without financial help.

Medical insurance under these circumstances would be incredibly helpful, but the company that I've worked for over the last six years, does not offer medical insurance and I do not qualify for Medicaid. I was uninsured when I was diagnosed. I had decided not to pay for medical insurance I could not afford (I had been healthy my whole life prior to this diagnosis and did not anticipate any of this). Admittedly, I realize the lack of wisdom in this choice now more than ever.

I rely on my income to meet my basic needs and it has been a struggle to sustain my home, purchase the medication to help with my pain management and the medical expenses already associated with diagnosing and treating
to help overcome this cancer diagnosis and undergo chemotherapy treatment. 

If there is anything you can contribute to my healing and wellness in this battle to conquer and overcome cancer, to help sustain me during this incredibly challenging time of my life, I would be eternally grateful. 

All monies collected will be used for medications and medical bills.
