We have created our own 24-hour version of the Navy Seals Hell Week 'Conquer 4 Twenty-Four' to raise money for Mental Health.
Conquer 4 Twenty-Four is a 24-hour event full of physical and mental challenges. Participants will work in teams where they will be pushed to their limits and out of their comfort zones which aims to somewhat represent the day to day struggles and difficulties of living with mental illness. The activities throughout the course of the 24 hours will be extremely demanding but very rewarding within a group environment where everyone will help each other and work together as a team through all the tough and challenging obstacles they come across.
Picture waking up in the early hours of the morning to do a gruelling training session or jumping in the freezing cold Williamstown beach. Picture completing 600 burpees or 3000 calories on the bike, ski or rower. Picture camping out with your friends. Picture lots of laughs along the way and all for a great cause. You may have a gruelling 24 hours ahead of you, but the reward of getting through and working with others will far outweigh it all.
The mental health stats in Australia are astounding -One in five (20%) Australians aged 16-85 experience a mental illness in any year. One of the biggest issues with mental illness is the stigma of not talking about it and not asking for help hence people thinking they are alone in their struggle. This 24-hour event will encourage and empower people to speak out and ask for help.
As part of the event, the participants will have the task of nominating a mental health charity where the funds raised will be donated to. The end of the 24 hours will conclude with a vote to determine the winning charity.
We are committed to raising funds and awareness about mental health, emotional well-being and suicide prevention.
