On the 16th of January my brother Conor was involved in a devastating bike accident that has left him with very serious injuries. A reckless driver was travelling on the wrong side of the road toward him, forcing Conor to swerve to avoid a head-on collision. He went off the road, hit a tree, and was thrown approximately 15–20 feet. The driver fled the scene.
Conor suffered severe injuries including broken ribs on both sides, punctured lungs, multiple fractures to his spine and neck, and a broken hand. He is currently in an induced coma while machines support his breathing, allowing his lungs the best chance to heal. Although Conor is in ICU, he is stable, safe, and in the best possible hands at the PA Hospital. We know he is strong and will recover, but his journey ahead will be long and demanding.
We are incredibly grateful to the kind couple who stopped immediately to help Conor and called paramedics so quickly. Their actions were truly life-saving, and our family will forever be thankful. We are also deeply grateful to the paramedics and hospital staff who acted so swiftly and continue to care for him with such dedication.
Conor is a devoted father to his beautiful son Oaka, who has a disability and relies on him greatly. He is a co-parenting single father and the sole income earner. Just before this accident, Conor had moved into a new home for himself and Oaka and was so excited to create a stable and happy space for them. Now, with Conor unable to work for the foreseeable future, the financial pressure of rent, bills, and daily living expenses continues despite everything he is facing.
This GoFundMe has been created to help ease that burden. Our hope is to cover Conor’s rent and assist with essential bills while he focuses entirely on healing and recovery. No one should have to worry about finances or housing while going through something like this.
Conor is a deeply loved son, brother, father, uncle and friend. He has always been the kind of person to show up for others, and now we are asking for a little support to show up for him.
Any donation, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping Conor and Oaka in your thoughts and prayers.
From our whole family, thank you for your kindness, love, and support during this incredibly difficult time.
With love, Sinéad.
