14 MILES. 2 MASSIVE PEAKS. 1 FIT 9-YEAR-OLD.
On Saturday 31st October 9-year-old Connor is stepping off the wrestling mats and taking on the ultimate test of mountain grit: climbing two of Yorkshire’s highest summits—Whernside and Ingleborough—in a single day.
This is a gruelling 14-mile trek with over 1000 meters of vertical climbing. In late autumn conditions, it is going to take every ounce of mental and physical toughness he has.
He is taking on this massive challenge to raise vital funds, which will be split exactly 50/50 between two incredible causes that mean a lot to us:
• Grundy Fight Academy: To fund new travel costs so local kids can compete in the world’s largest Wrestling Tournament, in Tallinn Estonia.
• Combat Stress: The UK’s leading charity for veterans' mental health, helping brave service men and women battle severe PTSD.
Why these two causes?
Wrestling teaches young athletes discipline, courage, and how to push through when things get tough. Our military veterans know that exact same fight on a completely different scale. Connor wants to use his fitness to give back to his club teammates and honour the heroes who have given everything for us.
