Behind You All The Way, Connor!

Our amazing, tender-hearted, athletic & gifted nephew Connor, was a backseat passenger in a vehicle accident on Saturday, July 10th in Okoboji, IA which left him with a severe spinal cord injury and loss of feeling in his lower extremities. He was air lifted to Sanford in Sioux Falls where he underwent a grueling 7.5 hour surgery on Sunday, July 11th. His family was originally given a grim prognosis of ever walking again based upon initial MRI/CT scans, but we believe through the overwhelming amount of prayers that kept pouring in from near and far, God answered! While in surgery the surgeon miraculously found that his spine was NOT severed! The surgery was a success and we found hope where we thought there was none. This brings hope that Connor will one day regain the feeling in his legs. It will be a long and difficult process but with God's grace, the love and support of all our prayer warriors, a strong family support system and Connor's grit, toughness and determination...he WILL prevail! Please pray for the physical, mental and emotional strength he will need to get through this.

Within the next couple of weeks, Connor will be heading to Craig Hospital, a world-renowned rehabilitation facility in Denver, CO for approximately 6-weeks. With the distance away from Sioux Falls, there remains a lot of unknowns, but what we do know as aunts and uncles of this fine young man, we could never allow Brett & Traci, Connor, Madison & Cali walk this journey alone. The accident will have a very large, long-term impact financially, physically and emotionally. So many have reached out asking what you can do, foremost please PRAY!
