Connor Campbell Medical Expenses

Updated November 15 2023-

thank you all for your support! We have raised the goal as there weee unexpected challenges and roadblocks with Connor’s treatment. After arriving at the rehab facility they found an aneurysm that had grown and Connor underwent surgery to insert stents into the artery to stop the the potential of a rupture. This has placed him back about a week of starting his rehab and there will also be additional needs for therapy, equipment, etc. The generosity we received with our first goal was incredible and we so appreciate all your help!

I am fundraising for my son’s medical expenses. We have no idea how much will be needed as Connor has a long road ahead of him. As some of you know, Saturday evening, October 21, 2023 Connor was involved in an accident on his motorcycle in Lynchburg, VA. A car made a left turn in front of him, which he managed to avoid striking the car, and then lost control and went off the side of the road and down a steep incline striking a tree. The vehicle either intentionally left the scene or was not even aware of the incident.

Two of Connor’s friend were following him in their car and with the help of a stranger who also saw the accident were able to pull him from the embankment and put him on his side so he would not choke due to the blood from the injuries to his face.

He was transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital and admitted to the ER. Anne and I were called by Connor’s friends and other individuals who were aware. We immediately left home to travel to Lynchburg to be with him. During the two + hour drive was filled with prayers, weeping, thinking and fear.

When we arrived, things were looking very bleak. We found out that Connor had suffered a traumatic brain injury, broken collarbone, small fractures in his c5 and c6 in his neck, bruised lungs and a broken femur on his left leg. He was also unconscious and due to the extensive facial fractures were told he would likely need extensive facial reconstruction surgery. There was little hope for Connor but we knew His Savior was and is always there.

The night was very unsettled for Connor. Many tests, x rays, CT Scans, and interruptions throughout the night made it longer than a normal night. As he suffered in his bed, Anne and I read Scripture to him that we used to when he would wake up in fear as a young boy, prayed over him and talked with him. It was clear he could and can hear us due to his response when he would be struggling and me or Anne would hold his hand and reassure him we could see him physically calm down. Sitting in the room and looking at the body of our son in that condition was one of the hardest things we have experienced.
