A Little Helping Hand
Sometimes we all need a little helping hand, and today Connie needs all our help.
Connie, the great friend and cheerleader to everyone, saw a new Dr. 2 weeks ago, and 1 week later was told she has a large tumor, 10.9 CM, on her right Kidney. Diagnosis, Kidney Cancer.
Last Tuesday Connie had her first of 2 surgeries. This coming week, Wednesday March 18th, she will have her right kidney removed and faces 4 to 6 weeks + of recovery time.
Cancer is a scary word on its own, but then add a large deductible and no income for 10 weeks due to the delay in FMLA (family medical leave) in the state of Washington, and it becomes a nightmare. Her estimated surgery cost is $75,000. Insurance will cover part, but not all of this, and this does not include the out of pocket for medications she will need.
She applied for FMLA and was told, SORRY 10 weeks to approval. She recently used her own sick leave to help care for a family member, not realizing she would herself need it.
How do you survive with no income for 10 weeks? The only way to do this is to ask for help, your help. The goal is to raise $10,000 which will help Connie get through until FMLA starts, and to help pay for medications, the large deductible, etc. that is needed now.
Every dollar helps and Connie thanks you in advance. The funds go directly to her account. As a co-worker and friend, we know how difficult this is to ask, but is truly necessary. If you are unable to help with funds, we ask for your prayers for an easy surgery and recovery. Blessings and love
