Funeral Costs for Connie Simmons

Update: my mom is passing away today. She has been placed in comfort care. Any of the funds here will go directly to funeral costs and services. She did not have anything set in place, so anything helps.

Hi, my name is Carrie, I’m raising money for my mother Connie Simmons. Recently my mom went in for a thumb infection. She underwent surgery and was getting better. Suddenly, her lungs began to fail. At first the doctors believed it to be Covid lung. However, I has come to light that it is EVALI. A vape induced lung injury which leads to bronchiolitis obliterans, also known as popcorn lung. What happens is, people who sell vapes on the street put chemicals in the oils, such as vitamin E oil, to thicken the oil and make it seem like they are selling you a good product. When I’m reality, it is killing people. It leads to ARDS, or Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and can be fatal. On top of her other health conditions, this has really taken its toll on her body. 

My mom is now fighting for her life in Cleveland clinic and is on life support trying to heal from this horrible lung injury.

If anyone can spare anything for her medical expenses and other costs that may arise due to this condition, please do. If you can’t donate, please share this story for awareness to help others from falling to the same fate and to gain prayers and support for her.

Update: this go fund me is for anything my moms insurance may not cover, for any costs if/when she is released from the hospital and has to go to skilled nursing or assisted living. Or, for if the worst case scenario would arise and the money would be put toward a funeral/service.
